This page is dedicated to our Community Engagement Event, PictureThis! where community members are given the opportunity to watch informative videos on the two proposed projects, interact with our GIS map tool, and vote in the mural poll on their favorite mural choice for downtown. The two subcommittees within the Randolph HubCAP team spearheading these two projects are lead by Jessica Sutton, City of Elkins Clerk, and Madalyn Higgins, Director of Elkins Main Street.

Riverfront Development Project

The Riverfront Development began with studies composed by the Pickering Associates on possible opportunities of development on the Tygart Valley River waterfront area. For more information on the study itself see the Waterfront Study on the City of Elkins website. The development plans include a foot trail along the water, benches for resting along with mile markers, kayak docks, fishing piers, and interactive artwork along the trail.

Art & Branding

The Arts and Branding projects are split, one portion focused on artwork downtown, while the other half of the project is focused on wayfinding, signage, and brand identity. Elkins Main Street and the HubCAP team are working on improving wayfinding signage in and around downtown for vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle traffic to assist residents and tourists alike in finding local businesses and amenities.
